HEIDI'S GLOSSARY
ASTROLOGY
A system based on your birth information — date, time, and location. Even without all details, aspects of your natal chart can still be read.
The reader looks at where the planets fall within the houses and the aspects between them to understand patterns, tendencies, strengths, and challenges. Astrology provides a map of your inherent blueprint, as well as timing cycles that influence growth, change, and opportunity.
CHANNELLING
Tapping into the client’s spirit guides, ancestors, archetypal energies, spirit essences, and other frequencies.
This can come through as spoken messages, energetic transmission, or intuitive knowing, and often carries guidance, perspective, or energetic shifts aligned with the client’s growth.
GONG FU CHA
A tea practice from an open Chinese lineage that originated in the 18th century. Some call it a tea ceremony, others a tea practice or session.
In this space, I primarily serve a black fermented tea called Pu’erh. When you drink enough of it, you may experience what’s often called a “tea high,” a subtle but noticeable state created through the interaction of three key components within the tea.
These include catechins (such as EGCG), potent antioxidants that can calm the mind, support memory, and improve attention; L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes alpha brain waves, creating a relaxed yet alert state; and caffeine, which enhances energy, alertness, and creativity. While Pu’erh contains relatively low levels of caffeine due to fermentation, trace amounts remain, contributing to a balanced, focused, and present experience.
MEDIUM
Communicating with the dead — sometimes including people’s pets (dead or alive). Mediumship focuses specifically on bridging communication between the physical and non-physical realms. All mediums are psychics, but not all psychics are mediums.
PSYCHIC
Reading someone’s energy field — past, present, and future — while tapping into their guides, ancestors, people they are in relationship with, and their higher self. It’s a way of perceiving information that already exists within and around a person’s field, offering insight into patterns, choices, and potential timelines.
REIKI
An intelligent healing energy that works with your system — only releasing what you are ready to let go of, and bringing in what you are ready to receive. It supports balance within the energetic and nervous systems, often creating a sense of calm, clarity, and restoration while gently shifting deeper layers over time.
RUNES
An ancient system of divination that predates tarot, typically made from bone, antler, or wood. It works with 24 archetypes (upright and reversed) and a casting cloth.
You hold the runes in your hand, breathe on them, and shake them — the ones that fall are the ones you read. The system tends to be more direct and concise than tarot, often speaking in clear, grounded truths rather than layered symbolism.
SHAMANISM
An earth-based, animistic practice used for healing, entity removal, soul cord cutting, protection, and bringing harmony to situations.
These ceremonies work by releasing imprints from the energy body and restoring balance within the system. Without continued integration and conscious release after the ceremony, those imprints can return to the field.
I am trained in the Q’ero lineage, which has been shared as an open tradition since the 1980s, and this work emphasizes relationship — with the self, the Earth, and the unseen — as the foundation for healing and transformation.
TAROT
A system of 78 archetypes (upright and reversed) representing earth, air, fire, water, and aether.
The minor arcana corresponds to the elements and different parts of your being: Pentacles (earth, the physical plane), Swords (air, communication and thought), Cups (water, the emotional realm), and Wands (fire, creativity, spirituality, and passion).
The major arcana, associated with aether, consists of 22 cards that map larger life themes and transitions — often understood as the hero’s journey. You shuffle the deck, cut it, and draw the cards face down, reading them once revealed, allowing the symbols to speak to both the conscious and subconscious layers of experience.
TEA LEAF READING
A form of divination where loose tea is placed into a cup.
In person, you drink the tea; at a distance, you do not. The reader interprets the symbols and images that form within the cup, reading patterns, shapes, and impressions as reflections of energy, timing, and unfolding experiences.
